1. Who this policy covers
This policy explains how Dr Omega, LLC ("Dr Omega", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the Readimon game and the readimon.com website (the "Service").
Accounts are created and controlled by a parent or legal guardian. Where we refer to "you", we mean the adult account holder. Where we refer to "your child", we mean a child using a player profile on your account.
2. Playing without an account
Guest play requires no account, no email address, and no sign-in. When your child plays as a guest:
- progress is stored only in the browser on that device, using
localStorage; - none of it is transmitted to us or to any third party;
- clearing your browser data erases it permanently, and we cannot recover it because we never had it.
3. What we collect when you create an account
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Parent email address | To create and secure the account, sign you in, verify your address, let you reset your password, and contact you about the Service. |
| Password | Stored only as a salted cryptographic hash by our authentication provider. We cannot see or retrieve your password. |
| Player display name | Shown in the game. You choose this — a nickname or first name only is fine, and we ask you not to use a full name. |
| Game progress | Character and hat choices, Readimon collected and their nicknames, Omega Points, battles won, and which words and letter sounds have been attempted and answered correctly. This is what lets progress follow your child to another device. |
| Consent records | Whether and when you accepted these terms and which version, and whether you opted in to email updates. |
| Basic technical data | Standard server logs kept by our hosting and database providers, which may include IP address and browser type, used for security and to keep the Service running. |
What we do not collect
- We do not ask children for their name, age, birthday, address, school, photograph, voice, or location.
- We do not collect precise geolocation.
- We do not use advertising trackers, advertising identifiers, or third-party analytics that profile individuals across sites.
- We do not include chat, messaging, user-to-user contact, or any way for a child to publish anything to other users.
4. Children's privacy
Readimon is intended for young children, and we treat information associated with a child's player profile as sensitive.
- Only an adult can create an account, and only after accepting these terms.
- The only contact information we hold is the parent's, never the child's.
- Player display names and Readimon nicknames are visible only within your own account. They are never shown to other users, because there are no other users to show them to.
- We do not condition your child's participation on disclosing more information than is reasonably necessary to play.
- We do not use children's information for advertising, profiling, or automated decision-making.
As the parent or guardian, you may review the information associated with your child's profile, ask us to delete it, and refuse to permit its further collection, at any time, by contacting [YOUR CONTACT EMAIL]. Deleting the account deletes the associated player profiles and their progress.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without a parent's involvement, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
5. How we use information
We use the information described above to:
- provide, operate, and maintain the Service;
- save and restore your child's progress across devices;
- authenticate sign-ins and protect accounts from unauthorised access;
- respond to your questions and support requests;
- understand in aggregate which parts of the game work well, so we can improve them;
- send email updates, but only if you separately opted in;
- comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
6. Service providers
We use a small number of third-party providers to run the Service. They process information on our behalf and are permitted to use it only to provide their service to us.
| Provider | Role |
|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Website and game hosting, content delivery, and network security. |
| Supabase | Account authentication and the database that stores account and progress data. |
| beehiiv | Email newsletter delivery — used only if you opted in, and receives only your email address. |
We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or a governmental request; to protect the rights, property, or safety of Dr Omega, our users, or the public; or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will take reasonable steps to ensure this policy continues to apply.
7. International transfers
Dr Omega is based in the United States, and our providers may store and process information in the United States and other countries. Privacy laws in those countries may differ from those where you live. By using the Service you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those countries.
8. How long we keep information
We keep account information and game progress for as long as the account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete the account and its player profiles and progress, except where we are required to retain something to comply with a legal obligation or to resolve a dispute. Backups and server logs may persist for a limited period before being overwritten in the ordinary course.
9. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information, including encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and database access rules that restrict each account to its own data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you or your child, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict certain processing, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent you previously gave.
To exercise any of these, contact [YOUR CONTACT EMAIL] from the email address associated with the account. We will respond within the period required by applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
You can unsubscribe from email updates at any time using the link in any email, or by contacting us. Unsubscribing does not delete your account.
11. Cookies and local storage
Readimon uses browser localStorage to save game progress on
your device, and our authentication provider sets a token so that you stay
signed in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Clearing
your browser storage will sign you out and erase any guest progress on that
device.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make a material change in how we handle personal information, we will update the version and effective date above and, where required by law, obtain your consent before applying the change to information already collected.
